First "Sound Sale" at the Shakespeare Pub, Kew on Sunday

PRLog (Press Release) – Sep 24, 2009 – The Shakespeare Pub on the Lower Richmond Road holds its first "Sound Sale" on Sunday 27 September to benefit young musicians.

"My nephew plays music, my sister is always doing things to raise money for charity and it seems like a good thing that the community here would like to have" said Sandra daughter of the owners of this traditional pub in south west London.

"We will be selling good 'sound' items - women's and men's clothes, shoes, handbags, bric-a-brac - and we''ll make hot dogs and my sister is making cakes" said Sandra. "The not-for-profit music company, APMC London had intended to start a shop to sell things to raise money for their programmes to help young musicians. They bought all the stock and then found it was just too expensive to run a shop. So they came to us to help them sell it. We will be holding sales each of the next five weekends. Let's see what happens!"

About APMC London: APMC London is led by international pianist and artistic director Caroline Haffner. It organizes professional workshop and performance programmes to engage new audiences and allow young, training musicians to develop professionally.

It promotes access, participation and learning in the arts at partner venues in places where people live, work and spend their time. APMC London acts as a network and link for musicians who have left college but have not yet joined an orchestra or agency. A monthly newsletter (International Classic) is produced as a way of helping musicians develop their communication and presentation skills and to make contact in priority places where APMC London organizes programmes and events.
