Mar 12, 2010 – The Acekard 2i is hands down better than the R4DS . Not to mention the R4 is not compatible with the DSi, there are games that the R4 can`t even load that the Acekard 2i does flawelessly .

When the DSi first came out in November of 2008 here in Japan, the acekard company was on the heels of technology and put out the Acekard 2i mod card 2 weeks after the DSi release!!

For those of you who don`t know what`s all the fuss about, let me tell ya….
The way the Nintendo has made the Dsi originally is that it can play games of course, connect to the internet, and take pictures like a cell phone. Thats basically it… Even though the DSi , if programmed correctly could operate just like a small computer, Nintendo has left out some amazing functionability ..Why? I don`t know,….. My guess is greed.
So, our fellow geek warriors went to work and created a card that uses a Micro SDHC , that when loaded with the right firmware and software can
* of course play any game,
* emulate a variety of systems( NES , ATARI, SNES, Sega Genesis, IPOD, and many more) ,
* you can also read comic books or other books,
* change the background skin to hundreds of different skins,
* you can create your own music just like a music producer,
* even for the artists out there you can draw beautiful works of art using a paint shop type program right on you DSi,
* not to mention you can play homebrew games
and I even know a guy who created an application to allow him to operate his camera directly through the DSi using the Acekard 2i. The options are limitless. The Acekard 2i not only works with the DSi , it also works with the DS , and DS lite the same way.
Now , I have an R4 as well. The R4 is another type of mod card that can do a variety of things as well , but the simple fact is that it only works with the DS and DS lite and still there are some games that won`t play on the R4 that the Acekard 2i plays flawlessly. Also , the R4 doesn`t work with the DSi so in that respect it`s just a piece of plastic!!
Now time to quell all the rumors…..
Won`t Nintendo just put out some sort of update to prevent the Acekard 2i from working?
Possibly, but the Acekard company geek warriors will be righ on their tails and just put out some firmware to keep the card working .
I live in Tokyo, Japan and this is where the Nintendo company puts out all their products first.
The Acekard 2i came out in November 2009 right after the DSi release , there have been so many rumors about the Acekard 2i not being able to work with the new DSi releases and you can`t update the firmware, ….blah, blah, blah,…..
Don`t believe the hype…
Here are the facts…. I have been using the same Acekard 2i in my DSi since November 2009 and have had no problems whatsoever.
