Winnipeg Florist Going Green - Adds Vase Recycling Program

PRLog (Press Release) – Sep 07, 2009 – Flowers are one of the most popular gifts that many people love to give and receive.  More often than not when we convey our sentiments with flowers, we want to provide the receiver with a gift that is ready to go.  That typically means that the flowers are provided in a vase from your local florist that can be popped out of the box and displayed immediately.  Those who receive flowers often will often have a bounty of different kinds of flower vases stored in their cupboard, or somewhere in a box, and we have been asked many times, "What should I do with all these vases?"

We may have the solution to that question at Dragonfly Flowers.  September marks the kickoff our our new Vase Recycling Program.

The Dragonfly Flowers Vase Recycling Program is simple:

-  Quality vases that meet our standard for re-use will be re-used in the store.

-  Ones that we can't re-use will be donated to the Salvation Army or Canadian Diabetes (Value Village).

-  Damaged vases will be sent to the appropriate recycling centers.

Owner Buffie Reuther:  "We hope that Winnipeg consumers will take part in this program, and help us to do our part for the environment, and some of the local charities."

We will be running several programs in conjunction with the vase recycling program, like "Flowers for Vases" and "Vases for Charity".  For updates on what programs are running at any given time, please feel free to watch The Winnipeg Florist Blog at:
